Gear Up for Fun

Visit Spotsylvania for water and land adventures! With 200 miles of shoreline, picturesque Lake Anna is the spot for boating, watersports, and world-class fishing. Six marinas with private access offer boat rentals and fishing tournaments, while Lake Anna State Park has a public boat ramp access, public beach, and miles of hiking, horseback riding, and biking trails.

Dominion Raceway and Entertainment, a premier motorsports and entertainment venue, hosts NASCAR, SCCA, and Superkart races, along with amateur road course and street-racing events. Enjoy the Dominion Raceway experience from the tailgate areas, themed suites, or large grandstands.

In addition to the racing series, Dominion Raceway hosts other sporting events and driving experiences. Be part of the action throughout the year!

The Groove Music Hall, located on Dominion Raceway’s 36,000-square-foot complex, is the place to be for live music, as well as comedy shows and plays. A variety of ticket options are available, including hotel-and-dinner packages. 

When you are looking to pick your own berries, pumpkins, or Christmas trees, enjoy the fresh air at family-owned Miller Farms Market. At Belvedere Plantation, there is fun for the entire family during the fall harvest festival season. Continue your outdoor adventure on an ATV with Battlefield Adventure Tours or on a guided trail ride at WRV Equestrian Center. When you want to fish or boat on a peaceful reservoir, head to Ni River and Hunting Run recreational areas. With 15 county parks, there is something for everyone in Spotsylvania, including a nationally recognized disc golf course at Loriella Park.

Explore the Past

If you appreciate aviation, Shannon Air Museum features an impressive collection of rare aircraft and memorabilia. Train enthusiasts won’t want to miss the Rappahannock Railroad Museum, where you can visit two cabooses, a baggage car, and two museum buildings that feature a host of railroadiana, and operating model railroad layouts of various gauges. 

John J. Wright Museum shares the history of education, culture, and civic life of Spotsylvania’s African American citizens and their contributions to the county. The African American Heritage Trail, Spotsylvania Museum and Spotsylvania Courthouse Historic District also offer deep dives into local history.  

The preserved battlegrounds of Wilderness, Spotsylvania, and Chancellorsville are managed by the National Park Service, as well as private trusts. Visitors can explore them by foot or car, discover intriguing stories on wayside signage, and connect with park rangers and tour operators for an in-depth perspective.

With each spot unique, from a lush farm at Wilderness Run Vineyards to a firefighter-themed pub at Maltese Brewing, there are a multitude of opportunities to sample, sip, and gather in a relaxed atmosphere.
