Two chances to catch gold fever.
Stampmill Sam’s Gold Adventure: 10 a.m. to Noon $2 per person
Gold Panning: 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Free
Mosey on over and join our ranger on a quest for this elusive mineral. You’ll discover the history of gold in Virginia and learn the finer points of placer mining and how to work a pan.
Then we’ll dip our pans in the water and see what washes up.
Plan to arrive early. Lake Anna State Park experiences capacity crowds on weekends often causing the park to close early. Call the Visitor Center 540-854-6245 to check on the closure status of the park.
