Nov 2: Montpelier Hunt Races

Enjoy a day of thrills and excitement at James Madison’s Montpelier during the Montpelier Hunt Races. This event will feature seven races, as well as Jack Russell Terrier races and stick horse races for the kids. There will also be opportunities for shopping and more to see and do, making this a great event for family fun.

Nov. 9: Annual Veteran’s Parade

The second Saturday in November, the town of Gordonsville honors veterans form Central Virginia during the Annual Veteran’s Parade. Veterans are invited to participate and march in the parade alongside patriotic music and floats.

Nov. 15: Grand Opening Reception of the Visitor Center of Louisa County

Locals and visitors are both invited to attend the Grand Opening Reception of the Visitor Center of Louisa County. Located on E. Main Street in Louisa, the new visitor center was formed to service all businesses, organizations and associations in and around Louisa County. Enjoy light refreshments and check out the new center.

Beginning Nov. 23: WinterFest

The holiday season kicks off at Kings Dominion with the park’s WinterFest. This annual event is filled with the sights, sounds, food and experiences of the holiday season. Enjoy dazzling lights across the park, a 300-foot-tall Christmas tree and festive displays. Guests can also enjoy live sows and strolling street performers during the winter event.

Nov. 30: Let’s Talk Turkey

Head to Lake Anna State Park to learn all about turkeys following Thanksgiving Day. A park ranger will host a free program at the park discussing toms, hens, jakes and jens during Let’s Talk Turkey. Guests can even make a turkey call to take home.
